Made with only 4 ingredients (the unscented version) because you don't need more than that - And it truly works to prevent odors, while not interfering with the body's natural process of elimination through sweat.
Ingredients
Organic Shea Butter, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda - extra fine), Arrowroot Powder & Organic Jojoba oil (it's a wax and not an industrial seed oil). Scented versions contain pure essential oils (organic when available).
Shea Butter: Shea butter is a creamy, nutrient-rich fat extracted from the nuts of the African shea tree. Naturally high in vitamins A and E, it helps soothe irritation, soften skin, and support barrier function—making it ideal for sensitive underarms. I choose shea butter not just for its skin benefits, but for its stability: it’s low in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs - an unstable oil). Shea Butter is high saturated fat (what we are going for) and therefore solid at room temperature, but it softens and rubs in well when applied to the skin.
Jojoba Oil (not technically an oil): Jojoba oil isn’t actually an oil—it’s a liquid wax pressed from the seeds of the jojoba shrub. Its structure closely mimics our skin’s natural sebum, making it deeply compatible and non-comedogenic. I choose jojoba for its silky glide, gentle absorption, and exceptional shelf stability. It’s naturally low in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).Jojoba is used in this deodorant to soften the mixture for easy application.
Arrowroot Powder: Arrowroot is a fine, lightweight starch extracted from tropical plant roots. It’s a gentle alternative to cornstarch and talc, and it blends beautifully into my deodorant base for a smooth, breathable finish.
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda): Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a naturally occurring mineral salt known for its powerful odor-neutralizing properties. I use a high quality very fine one to keep underarms fresh without synthetic fragrance or aluminum. Baking soda is what makes this deodorant work to prevent unpleasant odors. I pair it with shea butter, jojoba and arrowroot for smooth application and support of the skin.

Will this deodorant work for me?
This deodorant is tried and tested (for many years) and will work to prevent unpleasant odors for most people.
My personal share: I've used different natural deodorants since 2018. I've tried MANY. Some worked, but with some ingredients in I'd rather not use, some didn't work at all, some worked for a few months, and then one or two actually worked long term (but I can't get them in Canada). The ones that work all contain baking soda. It's the key ingredient.
I use the unscented version because it's the most hormonally friendly one, and I've used it through pregnancy and breastfeeding. In my postpartum new mom phase I appreciate having a deodorant that works to prevent unpleasant smells (IYKYK), but does not prevent me from sweating (it's important), and also does not alter my natural smell because that's important for baby to be around.
My husband Ian prefers a scent and loves lemongrass - hence Simply Pure & Natural Deodorant - Fresh.
When won't it work?
I am yet to hear someone give me this feedback from Simply Pure & Natural Deodorant, but there may be times where our odour is a lot stronger and more unpleasant. Usually this is a time the body is attempting to detox things out and it may be unpleasant, but it's an important process for being healthy. I'd recommend adding baking soda (high quality) to your daily wash routine (along with Simply Pure & Natural Tallow Soap) and supporting the body to eliminate what it needs to - see my blogs on raw carrot salad and other health efforts. Keep using the deodorant daily, because it will help over time to eliminate the unpleasant odor.
Baking soda: I've had people tell me that they react to baking soda and therefore cannot use deodorants with baking soda in them. I have not received feedback from anyone reacting to Simply Pure & Natural Deodorant, but it is possible. The baking soda used if very fine and of exceptionally high quality. Which should mitigate against a baking soda reaction (often this happens because baking soda is grainy and strong). If your underarm has broken skin, or some irritation - the baking soda could cause a burning sensation. My husband has sensitive skin (eczema prone) and he has not reacted to Simply Pure & Natural deodorant, but that being said I would recommend using minimal products during a flare up.
You can get the sample size to try and see if you have a reaction - I recommend doing a patch test and not using it on broken or irritated skin.
Things to note:
This is a natural product without filler ingredients and therefore the consistency may be slightly different depending on the weather. Since we prioritize high saturated fat, which is solid at room temperature, the deodorant can be a bit firmer in the colder months and softer in the warmer months.
Another note is that baking soda is grainy and therefore you may feel a bit of a grainy texture when applying this deodorant. But it should be minimal and still pleasant to apply.
This deodorant really works well and is hormone & health friendly.
