How to do a PUFF stitch

I recently started a new crochet project (my first time attempting to make a toy). The pattern I picked includes a special stitch - the PUFF Stitch.

To learn the Puff Stitch myself I went to my favorite resource - Crochet Techniques and Tips book. I highly recommend it if you want to have a book on hand that shows all the stitches.

How to do the puff stitch - written out:

Yarn over and insert your hook into the space, Pull up a loop. Do this 3 times. You'll have 7 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all 7.

In a pattern it might look like: [YO (starts for yarn over). Pull up a loop] x3. YO and pull through all 7 loops.

Here is a video of how to do the puff stitch:

The pattern I am working on is a FREE pattern (not mine) of a cat lovey: You can find it here.

The puff stitch is a versatile and beautiful crochet technique that adds texture and charm to any project. Whether you’re making a cozy blanket, a stylish scarf, or a decorative piece, mastering this stitch opens up endless creative possibilities.

Remember, practice makes perfect, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different yarns and patterns. Happy crocheting, and may your projects always be as soft and puffy as your stitches!
