Realistic & Recognizable Images - A Colouring Book, Perfect for Toddlers

Updated: Mar 6

Little ones benefit most from realistic and recognizable images. A coloring book filled with familiar objects—like animals, everyday items, and simple shapes—helps toddlers build their vocabulary, fine motor skills, and confidence.

Our little Elba loves to color, and over time, I’ve bought her several coloring books. But I quickly realized that none quite matched what I was looking for—something simple, engaging, and filled with familiar images she could recognize. That’s why I decided to create one myself!

I introduce to you a Colouring Book, Perfect for Toddlers with Realistic, Simple and Recognizable Images:

Text on a light blue, cloudy background reads "A simple colouring book, perfect for Toddlers." A cloud shape says "Age 1 to 3."

This colouring book is now available on Amazon in most countries.

For those in Canada - you can use the link below.

You can also get the PDF version from my shop and print it out yourself.

If you'd like to take inspiration for printing it out yourself - For the print version I chose for it to only have one colouring in page per spread to reduce distractions and allow children to focus more on the page they've chosen to colour.

While two images may be nice when two children are colouring - more often than not, Elba is doing this as a solo activity and even when she is joined by someone, she wants them to colour in the same page she is doing. I'd be curious to hear your experience with this.

Here is a sample of the images that can be found in the book:

Grid of eight black line drawings: sun, cherries, mittens, flower, cat, books, crescent moon with stars, and a tree on a gray background.

The images I choose and created are all recognizable and realistic. While I don't subscribe to only using realistic images, I do think that at this age having a stronger focus on realistic and recognizable images is more beneficial for toddlers.

I'm excited to share this creation with fellow parents who are looking for a coloring book with less clutter and more clarity—one that features large, realistic, and age-appropriate images designed to support toddlers' development in a simple, engaging way.

Get your copy now - on Amazon or print out the digital version, and please let me know what you think!
